Abstract
In the present study, the influence of playful strategies on student participation in Physical Education in upper basic education was examined, based on recent scientific evidence (2024–2026) and a replicable quantitative model using simulated data. Studies addressing gamification, game-based learning, traditional games, and cooperative games in school contexts were reviewed, including experiences aimed at the inclusion of students with special educational needs, such as autism spectrum disorder and hearing impairment. The analyzed literature reported increases in variables associated with enjoyment, intrinsic motivation, motor engagement, and school coexistence, while also identifying limitations related to teacher training, pedagogical planning, and technological gaps present in some educational contexts. Methodologically, a quasi-experimental design was structured with a simulated sample of 100 students distributed into two equivalent groups of 50 participants (control and intervention), with pre-test and post-test measurements of enjoyment, motor engagement, and a global participation index. The simulated results showed improvements in the group that participated in the playful intervention, particularly in enjoyment and motor engagement. It is concluded that playful strategies can promote student participation in Physical Education when they are planned with pedagogical intentionality and a participatory approach.
