Resumo

A coordenação motora bilateral é um componente-chave do desempenho motor e escolar na infância média e pode ser estimulada por meio de tarefas rítmicas e contralaterais próprias da bailoterapia. Avaliar o efeito de uma intervenção aeróbica baseada em dança (bailoterapia) como estratégia didática para desenvolver a coordenação motora bilateral em crianças de 7–8 anos. Estudo experimental, quantitativo e longitudinal com medidas repetidas (T0 semana 0, T1 semana 12, T2 semana 20) em N = 110 escolares da Unidade Educativa "5 de Junho" da província de Loja, cantão Macará, alocados aleatoriamente em um grupo experimental (bailoterapia, n = 55) e um grupo controle (educação física habitual, n = 55). A intervenção durou 12 semanas (2 sessões/semana, 60 min) com progressão de padrões simétricos para assimétricos e contralaterais. A coordenação bilateral foi medida com o subteste de Coordenação Bilateral do BOT-2 (escore escalonado). Aplicou-se um modelo linear misto com interação Tempo×Grupo. A interação Tempo×Grupo foi significativa no pós-teste (? = 2,55; p < 0,001) e no seguimento (? = 1,73; p = 0,009). O grupo experimental aumentou de 10,71 ± 4,43 (T0) para 14,98 ± 4,49 (T1) e 14,51 ± 4,50 (T2), enquanto o controle passou de 10,04 ± 4,00 para 11,76 ± 4,16 e 12,11 ± 4,44. A bailoterapia didática mostrou melhorias superiores e parcialmente sustentadas na coordenação motora bilateral, sendo, portanto, uma estratégia viável para potencializar aprendizagens motoras na educação física escolar.
