Resumo
A pesquisa realizada na Nuevo Rocafuerte High School avaliou a eficácia do Movie Method, um aplicativo para aprender inglês que se concentra no desenvolvimento do vocabulário em inglês para alunos do décimo ano do EFL. Metodologicamente, a pesquisa integrou questionários com análise de desempenho em testes para avaliar o impacto das ferramentas digitais na aquisição de idiomas no nível de proficiência A1. Os resultados demonstraram uma preferência acentuada pelo aprendizado digital, com 60% dos alunos favorecendo os métodos baseados em filmes em relação às estratégias tradicionais de aprendizado de vocabulário. A adaptabilidade do Movie Method foi um fator significativo, refletido em sua alta pontuação média para aumentar a retenção de vocabulário e a compreensão de palavras difíceis. Apesar das reduções iniciais na participação devido à falta de familiaridade com o método, os alunos engajados apresentaram ganhos consideráveis na compreensão e no uso do vocabulário, confirmando o potencial desses aplicativos para reforçar a proficiência no idioma. O estudo ressalta a importância da integração da tecnologia móvel nas estratégias educacionais e a necessidade de recursos educacionais acessíveis e centrados no usuário. São necessárias mais pesquisas para corroborar essas descobertas e avaliar o impacto de longo prazo das ferramentas digitais em diversos ambientes educacionais.
