Resumen

La motivación en Educación Física influye en la participación sostenida y en la continuidad de la actividad física fuera de la escuela durante la adolescencia temprana. Describir las regulaciones motivacionales y su relación con la intención de ser físicamente activo en estudiantes de 12 a 15 años. Estudio cuantitativo, no experimental, transversal y descriptivo-correlacional. Participaron 170 estudiantes (12–15 años) de la unidad educativa “Teodoro Gómez de la Torre”. Se aplicó la escala de PLOC-2 (intrínseca, integrada, identificada, introyectada, externa y desmotivación) y MIFA (intención). Se realizaron análisis descriptivos y correlaciones de Spearman (p < 0,05); se exploraron perfiles motivacionales. Predominaron regulaciones autodeterminadas y una intención alta. La intención se asoció con motivación intrínseca (? = 0,52), regulación identificada (? = 0,49) e integrada (? = 0,44), y se relacionó negativamente con desmotivación (? = ?0,41). La regulación introyectada mostró asociación débil (? = 0,18) y la externa no fue significativa (? = 0,06). Los perfiles descriptivos mostraron mayor intención en el grupo autónomo alto y menor en el grupo con baja motivación/desmotivación. Se observó un patrón motivacional predominantemente autónomo vinculado con mayor intención futura; la presencia de componentes introyectados sugiere que parte del compromiso puede ser menos estable. Se recomienda fortalecer climas que apoyen autonomía, competencia y relación, y ampliar oportunidades extraescolares accesibles.
