Este artigo analisa as perspectivas de dois dos principais defensores da chamada "tese antissocial na teoria queer" - Edelman e Halberstam - com o objetivo de mostrar sua relevância para uma política do tempo queer. Para tanto, argumentarei que, para ambos os autores, o valor da tese antissocial está em seu poder crítico das práticas heterossexuais hegemônicas que reproduzem uma temporalidade linear, contínua e despoticamente orientada para o futuro. Em seguida, tentarei mostrar como Edelman - buscando evitar a promoção de uma política de identidade queer e sua derivação em uma assimilação como apenas mais uma minoria - insiste na necessidade de manter a negatividade desestabilizadora do queer. Sugiro que essa posição restritiva o levará a não elaborar uma política do tempo alternativa ao futurismo reprodutivo. Por fim, tentarei mostrar como Halberstam, a partir de uma perspectiva menos radical em relação ao valor dessa negatividade, evita cair em uma política de identidade queer apelando para a proposta de Elizabeth Freeman de uma política do tempo de arrastamento temporal. Isso se deve ao fato de ser um apelo a uma temporalidade impura, descontínua e não progressiva de interrupção, repetição e atraso que desafia toda identidade.
