Abstract

This research aims to review the novel Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercy, originally written in 1976 and recently translated into Spanish, with the support of various theoretical approaches that have been made from feminisms and studies on gender and science fiction, to account for how this, like other texts of literature of the genre, are and have been a significant political tool to imagine other possible futures. The images of the future that have been developed in science fiction narrative, specifically in the so-called feminist science fiction, can be traced in contemporary plastic and audiovisual proposals that address social and environmental problems.
